Belton Funeral services for Dewey Lewis, age 91, will be held 11 AM, Monday, September 17, 2012, at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Brent Eaton and Leslie Maxwell officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday evening, September 16, 2012 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Lewis died Friday, September 14, 2012 in Belton. She was born August 12, 1921 in Buckholtz, the daughter of Willie Winston Holder and Artie Cleo (Charles) Holder. She married her late husband, James W. Lewis August 10, 1938 in Temple. Dewey has lived in Central Texas her whole life and moved to Temple from Cameron when she was a small girl. She was a member of the Seventh Street Methodist Church in Temple and owned ABC Cleaners for many years. Dewey loved to travel and shop as much as she could. She is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Lewis; her mother and father; one infant son, Todd William Lewis; three brothers, Leland Charles, Woodrow Holder, Charles Holder; two sisters, Rubie Hankins and Trudie Stone.. Survivors include her one son, James (Sonny) Lewis; two daughters, Jeannene Maxwell, Cherrie Wilson; six grandchildren, Leslie Maxwell, Dan Maxwell, Paulette Cawthon, Kim Lewis, Misty Sullivan; and 16 great grandchildren.
