Funeral services for Edwin D. Hatch, 71, of Belton will be held at Noon (12 PM) Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Minister Joe Baisden officiating. Burial will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, October 4, 2012 from 5-7 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mr. Hatch was born July 28, 1941, in Rule, Texas the son of Early and Effie (Bristol) Hatch. He grew up in Phoenix. He was a 28 year veteran of the US Army. He was a US Army counselor and reenlistment NCO. He also served in Vietnam. He moved to Central Texas in 1986 and retired from the Army in 1988. He married Joann Keeth Armstrong, August 29, 1991 in Bell County. He was the Post Commander of the American Legion in Bell, California, in the late 1970's. He was also a member of the Harker Heights VFW. Survivors include his wife Joann Hatch of Belton. Two sons, Christopher Armstrong of Seattle, Washington, Vernon D. Hatch and Eddie Hatch both of Arizona. Two daughters, Sandra Netupski and husband Robert of Belton and Jennifer Sharp and husband Ross Keiser of Hutto. Six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
