Mac Ward

Funeral services for Mac Ward, 91, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Johnson and Rev. Tim Foster officiating. Burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mr. Ward died Monday, October 8, 2012 in a Temple hospital. Mr. Ward was born August 3, 1921 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Herman Malcolm Ward and Stella (Stedman) Ward. He married Jamie Lorene Crain, December 24, 1941 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the 83rd Division Infantry of the US Army during the European Theater. In 1959 the family moved to central Texas. He worked in Insurance and was a postal clerk for many years. He was a long time member of Miller Heights Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for more than 50 years and was the church custodian for more than 20 years. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his wife, September 12, 2012 and one son Gene Ward in 1971. Survivors include two sons Warren Ward of Oakland, Tennessee and Wayne Ward of Temple. Five grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
