Evelyn Jo Davis

Services will be at the Dossman Funeral Home in Belton at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 25, 2012 with Rev. Michael Lewis officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Evelyn was born April 11, 1942 in Snyder, Texas to Grant and Myrtle Townsend. They moved to Killeen when Evelyn was a few months old. At age 13 she moved to Florence, Texas with her family where she soon met her future husband, Craig Davis of Andice, TX. They were married on July 3, 1959 in Belton. Her priorities were God first and family second. Love for God and man kept a smile on her face and a song on her lips. She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Temple pastored by Bro. Mike Lewis and hosted many many family gatherings. She was a devoted school teacher in the first and second grades for many years at the Birdville Independent School District where she ministered to all her students, their parents and her coworkers. Her life was an inspiration to everyone who knew her and a tremendous blessing to her family. She will surely be missed, but we know she is in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ now and would not bring her back if we could. Her desire is that we rejoice with her and mourn not. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Grant and Myrtle Townsend of Florence, Texas Son Kirby Glenn Davis and Granddaughters Allison and Ashley Karbula. She is survived by her Husband Craig Davis of Little River, Son Michael Davis of Dallas, Daughter Tracy Karbula of Little River, Four grandchildren: Grant Davis, Corrina Charlton, Joshua Karbula, Katherine Jo Martin Karbula, Two great grandchildren: Aiden Davis, Alanna Charlton, four siblings: Grant Townsend of Payette, Idaho, Curtis Townsend of Jarrell, Texas, Johnny Townsend of Florence, TX and Rena Katherine Caldwell of Bastrop, TX.
