Gertrude L. Forrest

Belton--- Funeral services for Gertrude L. Forrest, 95, of Temple, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple with Rev. Ranjan Cletus officiating. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 7 PM at the Dossman Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Forrest died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in a Belton Nursing Home. Mrs. Forrest was born July 25, 1917 in Temple, the daughter of Henry and Lara (Bonds) Caffrey. She was a graduate of Temple High School. She married Vernon Forrest of Temple. She worked at Scott and White Hospital for many years as a receptionist. After retiring from Scott and White she worked for the Fountain of Beauty. She was a long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Alter Society of St. Mary's. Mrs. Forrest was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Forrest, daughter Mary Ann Forrest and son Buddy Forrest. Survivors include nephew Charles Caffrey and wife Barbara Ann of Holly Lake Ranch; one niece-in-law Barbara Speer Caffrey of Belton; two great nephews Scott Caffrey and Raymond Caffrey; two nieces Karen Caffrey and Adrianne Caffrey Evers; five great- great nieces and nephews.
