Services for Wayne P. Timbrook of Belton will be on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at 4PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with the Reverend Rodney B. Kruse officiating. A private internment will be at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Timbrook died on November 18, 2012 in a Temple hospital. He was born on June 24, 1933 to James Alfred Timbrook and Mildred Irene Wilson Timbrook in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He joined the Air Force at the age of seventeen and was in the2nd class of the newly formed "Pararescue" unit. He served in the Korean War along with many other missions around the world - honoring their motto, "That Others May Live". After leaving the Air Force in 1963, he had many occupations including but not limited to contract pilot in South America for Southern Air, director of a technical school, HR manager for a security firm, owner of a flight service in El Paso known to shuttle such celebrities as John Wayne, Lee Trevino and Mr. Farah of men's wear fame. He moved to Belton in 2001 where he married Peggy Pittman Munns on August 9, 2003. He was preceded in death by his son, George D. Timbrook, birth parents, adopted father, Archie G. Jones, and his sister, Madeline Edwards Timbrook. He is survived by his wife, two daughters Roxann Bennett of Eddy, Texas, and Suzann Maughon and son-in-law, Dan Maughon, of Jackson, Georgia, 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, two brothers, Judge Dennis Timbrook Nelson of Bisbee, AZ and James Timbrook of AR. He had a never-ending zest for life and adventure. He never failed to brighten someone's day and touched the heart of the many that were fortunate to know him. He was a patriot, hero, adventurer, story-teller, and larger than life individual. He is the world's loss and heaven's gain. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to VFW Post 3892, 201 VFW Drive, Harker Heights, TX 76548 or to a charity of your choice.
