Margaret Irene Jones

Margaret "Irene" Jones, 84, of Belton joined our Heavenly Father on 22 November, 2012 at Park Place Manor in Belton. Funeral services will be held at Dossman's Funeral Home in Belton on Monday the 25th of November at 2:00 PM, followed by a grave side service at the North Belton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday the 24th of November between 6:00 and 8:00 pm at Dossman's Funeral Home. Irene was born on November 1st, 1928 to George and Margaret Thompson. Her first marriage to G.W. Morrison blessed her with four sons. Irene married Bill Jones on August 13, 1970 and was further blessed by her step-son and step-daughter. Irene and Bill moved to Belton, Texas in 1983 where she worked for the Leon Heights Elementary School cafeteria for 13 years until her retirement. Irene loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and mother, an avid reader and she enjoyed cooking and creating floral arrangements. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Thompson, two brothers, Manus and JC Thompson and her step-daughter Sandra Sheard. Irene is survived by her husband of 42 years, W.F. (Bill) Jones; her children, Gary, Wayne, Gerald and Gene Morrison; her step-son Murray Jones and son-in-law Phillip Sheard, along with her daughters in law. She is also survived by her siblings E.T. Clippard, Roy Thompson, Agnus Jones, Maybelle Brashears, and Alvin Thompson along with her brothers and sisters in law. Irene adored her family and was blessed with 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was an inspiring woman of Faith and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
