Edith Mayes

BeltonGraveside services for Edith Mayes, 88, of Belton, will be held at 1 PM Monday, December 31, 2012 at Bellwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday evening at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mrs. Mayes died Saturday, December 29, 2012, in a Temple Hospital. Mrs. Mayes was born August 18, 1924 in Oenaville, the daughter of John Hampton Starling and Ethel Vera (Ezzell) Starling. She married Andy E. Mayes July 5, 1940 in Temple. Mrs. Mayes was a lifetime resident of Central Texas. She was a member of Belton Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Mayes was preceded in death by her husband, two sons Billy James Townzen and Andy Calvin Mayes; two daughters Marie Moore and Linda Hicks Moore. Survivors include son Richard Townzen of Morgan's Point Resort and brother John Halpton Starling Jr. of Morgan's Point Resort. Eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
