BeltonMemorial services for John Elliott, Jr., 65, of Little River will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Joe Baisden officiating. John Patrick Elliott, Jr., passed away at his home on February 17,2013 after a battle with cancer. John was born to John Elliott, Sr. and Laura Nell Elliott in Belton, TX and lived most of his life in Belton. He served several years in the United States Army and worked for Scott and White Hospital for more than 30 years. John had a great love of hunting, political discussion, photography, outdoor cooking, and the Texas Rangers; long conversations also took place regarding the fabulous Lady Bears. He's renowned for his exceptional skills as a girl's baseball coach. Many people will remember him also as a great storyteller and recall how he could recount not only his own adventures but also those of his friends and family. He is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Harry "Hotchy" Giles. John is survived by his wife Sherry, sisters Libby Rook of Vienna VA, Patty Griffith of Wilmington OH, Harriette Muniz and Laura Sue Haire of Belton and one godson, Everett Todd Zook.
