Preston J. Perkins

BeltonMemorial services for Preston J. Perkins, 81, of Holland will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, February 21, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Holland with Randy Evans officiating. Preston died Monday, February 18, 2013 in a Bartlett nursing home. Preston was born August 8, 1931 the son of Henry James Perkins and Alice (Augusta) Perkins in Aransas Pass, Texas. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954 and married his wife, Rosalie (Pool) Perkins, December 23, 1955 in Montrose, Colorado. Preston had a love of hunting, camping, fishing and farming. He was a family man and loved spending time on the lake. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jody Perkins; and two sisters, Wanda Davis and Faye Jones. John is survived by his wife Rosalie Perkins; two sons, Gary Perkins, Bruce Perkins; four daughters, Becky Ward, Pauline Havens, Brenda Carroll, Sheila Jackson; two brothers, Blane and Butch Perkins; two sisters, Bessie Perkins and Treva Morris; 22 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
