Richard Olin Rowe

Belton--Funeral services for Richard Olin Rowe, 87, of Whitney, formerly of Belton, will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at the Rest Haven Cemetery in Belton. The family will receive friends for visitation 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday evening at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mr. Rowe died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at a Whitney Nursing Home. Mr. Rowe was born November 28, 1925 in Whitney (Ft. Graham), the first of three sons to Hardin and Mary (Caughron) Rowe. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He retired as Division Rules Examiner for the Santa Fe Railroad in 1990. He was a member of Keys Valley Baptist Church in Belton. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Rowe was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bobby Dean Rowe and Lewis Marshall Rowe both of Grandview. He was also preceded in death by the wives of three marriages Ruth Burreson, Corene (Stone) Rowe and Lois (Campbell Gillard) Rowe. Survivors include a son Robert Olin Rowe of Whitney; four grandchildren: Richard Leon Rowe, Mary Ellen Rowe, Hollie Ann Sterling and Audrey Jean Jordan; 15 great grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Memorials may be made to Keys Valley Baptist Church in Belton.
