Sarah Kathleen Byrd

Belton--- Graveside services for Sarah Kathleen Byrd, 87 of Belton, will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 18, 2013 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen under the direction of Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Joe Baisden officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Byrd died Thursday, March 15, 2013, in a Temple nursing home. Mrs. Byrd was born November 12, 1925 in Cherokee, Texas, the daughter of Dudley Battle and Sallie (Patrick) Battle. She married her husband, O. C. Byrd, in Brady, Texas, November of 1943. She has lived in Central Texas for 60 years and was a member of the Belton Church of Christ. Reading has remained her favorite hobby since she was a small child. She also loved to cook and crochet. She was a Homemaker and cooked for the Belton ISD. She is preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, her parents and husband. Survivors include her three children, Jack Byrd of Billings, Montana, Kay Larson of Belton, Texas, and Teague Byrd of Austin, Texas; two grandsons, Jay Larson and Kyle Larson; and four great granddaughters.
