Kennneth Ray Moody

BeltonMemorial services for Kenneth R. Moody, 82, of Belton, will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 22, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Belton with Rev. Darren Walker officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service at 12:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church Belton. Mr. Moody died Monday, March 18, 2013 in a Temple hospital. Mr. Moody was born October 8, 1930 in Olney, the son of Clarence Selvan Moody and Thelma Nadine (Smith) Moody. He grew up in Wichita Falls. After high school graduation, he joined the Marine Corps. He soon married Joan Crawford, September 2, 1949, in Wichita Falls. He was a decorated Marine, receiving two purple hearts, among other awards. He retired from the Marine Corps, after 20 years active service. He later worked for 10 years for the Texas Department of Public Safety. He was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the D. A. V. Mr. Moody was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and one grandchild. Survivors include his wife Joan Moody of Belton; two sons Richard David Moody of Tyler and Michael Wayne Moody and wife Cathy of Corpus Christi; six grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
