Belton--- Funeral services for Dorothy E. Becker, age 73 of Temple, will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple. Viewing will be held the day of the service with a visitation with family and friends from 1 PM to 2PM Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the funeral home. Dorothy passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 at her home in Temple. She was born June 15, 1939 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of John Carl Becker and Eleanor Christina Sophia (Sandberg) Becker. Dorothy moved to Temple in 2004 from California and had a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and worked as Pediatric Nurse. She loved to paint and draw, although her favorite passion was studying Hebrew, Philosophy, and Religion. She was very self-educated and knowledgeable in Old Testament Studies She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her three brothers, Kenneth, LeRoy, and Paul Becker; two sisters, Caryl Driver and Pearl Fellingham. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hope Pregnancy Center of Temple, 210 W. Avenue H, Temple, Texas 76504.
