Belton--- Funeral services for Lois Coggin, 87, of Belton, will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Temple Christian Center in Temple with Rev. Kerry Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at the Davilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation 5:00 - 7:00 PM Wednesday evening at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Coggin died Monday, May 6, 2013, in a Temple hospital. Mrs. Coggin was born August 26, 1925 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Warren and Katherine (Houston) Wilson. She married Millard Coggin in 1968 in Lampasas. She worked for many years as a primary caregiver with Jackon Home Healthcare. She also worked at the Temple Christian Center Day Care. Mrs. Coggin was a volunteer with the Scott and White Yellowbirds, in the dialysis and the mammogram department. She was a poet and collected elephants, over 780 elephants. She was a member of Temple Christian Center Church where she served as the missions' director for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband April 29, 1989, one daughter Mildred Charlene Lee, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Survivors include two sons Chuck Hollingsworth and wife Bernice of Belton, Ed Coggin and wife Christine of Belton; two daughters Mary Coggin Hunt and husband Thomas of Belton and Susie Lee of Buena Vista, Colorado; one brother John Wilson of Missouri and Ruth Crigler of Missouri; 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Temple Christian Center Church 5101 West Adams Ave Temple Texas 76502. Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of arrangements.
