Dorothy Mahler Cole

Funeral services for Dorothy "Dottie" Mahler Cole, 91, of Temple, will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hubert Austin and Rev. Don Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the Greathouse Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mrs. Cole died Friday, May 31, 2013 at her home in Temple. Mrs. Cole was born May 26, 1922 in Heidenheimer, the daughter of Carl Frederick Mahler and Iola Jones Mahler. She attended Business College and worked for many years at the Temple Daily Telegram as a senior secretary. She married Ralph Cole, September 2, 1961 in Heidenheimer. They were blessed by one child Carla, on October 9,1967. They lived in Ft. Worth for many years. While living in Ft. Worth she attended the First United Methodist Church, played City Softball, volunteered with the PTA and all school functions for her daughter. She enjoyed painting and calligraphy. After moving back to Temple Mrs. Cole was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Temple, The Dawson Sunday School class and the Senior Center of Temple. She enjoyed hosting parties for Bridge. Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Cole; two brothers Bob Mahler and Frederick Lamar Mahler; and her parents. Survivors include one daughter Carla Cole of Temple, granddaughters Michelle Wesolowski and Wendi Wesolowski and great grandson Colt Key; one step son Earl Van Cole and wife Brenda of Ft. Worth and granddaughters Alexandria Cole and Miranda Cole; two sisters-in-law, Merle Mahler of Temple and Suma Mahler of Belton; and many nieces and nephews.
