Mildred Brown

November 3, 1940 — June 18, 2013

Mildred L. Goosic Brown passed away on June 18, 2013. She was born November 3, 1940 in Clearlake, Iowa to Cecil and Faye Goosic. She spent most of her early years near Nevada, Iowa and graduated from Shipley High School in 1958. She then attended Hastings College and Mary Lanning School of Nursing in Hastings, Nebraska. She then met and married Ellis N. Brown in August 1962. She worked as a surgical nurse for several years to help Ellis through medical school. For 50 years she lovingly cared for Ellis and then their daughters Kathleen R. Roberts and Janet L. Breazeale (Steve), both of Temple. She also cared for her grandsons-Anthony Roberts (Emily) of Midland, Texas; Nickalas Roberts (Lilly) of Temple; Jason Breazeale of Temple and Corbin Breazeale of Eugene, Oregon. She also had two great grandchildren-Ryan Neal Roberts of Temple and Avery Kate Roberts of Midland, Texas. She is also survived by sisters Helen Nernes of Leon, Iowa and Nancy Reiter (Virgil) of Polk City, Iowa and a brother Leroy Goosic of Bondurant, Iowa. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, East Bell County Genealogy Society, the Embroiderers' Guild of America and the American Needlepoint Guild. Viewing will be Friday June 21st from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and services will be Saturday June 22nd at 11:00 am at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton, Texas. Memorials should please be made to the American Cancer Society.
