Belton--- Funeral services for J. T. Parker, 82, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Weldon Hicks and Rev. Justin Childers officiating. Burial will follow at the Salado Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday evening from 6-8 at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mr. Parker died Saturday, June 22, 2013 in a Belton Nursing Home. Mr. Parker was born April 4, 1931, in Killeen, the son of Willard and Kate (Thornton) Parker. He married Frankie McGuyer January 10, 1950 in Belton. He was an active rancher and horseshoer for most of his working life. He was also a team roper and pick-up man. He was member of the Bell County Cowboys and Cowgirls Ring of Honor. Mr. Parker was a member of the Miller Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Frankie McGuyer parker of Belton, two sons John Parker and wife Pat of Temple and Jimmy Parker and wife Caroline of Belton; two daughters Lori Maples and husband W.B. of Copperas Cove and Tammi Patterson and husband Randy of O'Fallon, Il. Six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Miller Heights Baptist church Building Fund or the Charity of your choice.
