Harold D Hollingsworth

Memorial services for Harold "Holly" Hollingsworth, 88, will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, July 6, 2013, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel in Belton. The family will receive friends for visitation at 1:00 PM one prior to the service. Mr. Hollingsworth died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at his home in Temple. He was born January 20, 1925 in Beaumont, the son of Clarke and Myrtle (Lunsford) Hollingsworth. Mr. Hollingsworth married LaRue Stephens, September 22, 1946, in Beaumont. He graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelors of mechanical engineering and had a long career as a petroleum engineer. Harold and his family lived in many places, including Houston and other locations in Texas, New México, Wyoming and Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years on January 23, 2013. Survivors include two sons Mark Hollingsworth of Belton and Wayne Hollingsworth of Austin; one daughter Dana Hollingsworth of Austin; one brother John Hollingsworth of Jasper and four grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Greater Things Building Fund of First Baptist Church, Temple, Texas.
