Edwin Perkins

Funeral services for Edwin Perkins, 85 of Temple, will be held at 9:00 AM Monday, July 29, 2013, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Davis and Rev. Jerry McGuire officiating. Burial will be at the Terrace Cemetery in Post at 6:00 PM. Mr. Perkins died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at a Temple Nursing Home. Mr. Perkins was born December 20, 1927, in Tahoka, the son of G. L. and Myrtle (Bingham) Perkins. He married Ann Dean April 13, 1952, in Waurika, Oklahoma. Mr. Perkins was a retired Church of The Nazarene minister. His career as a minister spanned almost 30 years. He was a member of the Church of The Nazarene. Mr. Perkins was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Perkins, May 22, 1999. Survivors include one son, Dennis Perkins and wife Sharman of San Antonio; one daughter Paula Auter and husband Richard of Belton; three grandsons, Richie Auter and wife Stefanie, Tim Auter and wife Donna and Tanner Perkins. Memorials may be made to the Belton Church of The Nazarene, First Nazarene Church of Temple or Scott and White Hospice. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday afternoon from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. The family extends its sincere thanks to Scott and White Department of Oncology and the compassionate nurses in the oncology treatment room. The Scott and White Hospice team members were outstanding in their care and dedication to our father. The staff at Cornerstone Gardens were very caring in Dads last days. We are grateful to everyone for their loving support.
