Belton--- Funeral services for Elmer L. Sutter, age 84 of Belton, will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 13, 2013, at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Rebecca Fox Nuelle officiating. Burial will follow at Temple Garden of Memories in Temple. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5 to 8 PM at Dossman Funeral Home Elmer passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at his home in Belton. He was born November 17, 1928 the son of Raymond Sutter and Effie (Fisher) Sutter in Butler, Pennsylvania. He married his wife, Marian (Rennick) Sutter August 14, 1954 in Butler, Pennsylvania after honorably serving in the United States Army from 1949 to 1952. Elmer has lived in the area for 43 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belton where he has served as an Elder and Deacon. He was a member of the Statesmen Cycle Club and loved spending time riding his motorcycle and auto racing; but most of all he loved the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harry Fisher, Raymond, William, and Walter Sutter. Survivors include his loving wife, Marian Sutter of Belton; three sons, Harold Sutter and wife Jeannie of Troy, Martin Sutter and wife Karen of Rogers, and Robert Sutter of Temple; two daughters, Donna Kempf and husband Thomas of Belton, Debra Meyers and husband Gordon of Georgetown; one brother, Ralph Sutter of Colorado Springs, Colorado; nine grandchildren, Clarence "Bubba" Bailey, Terrie Furgal, Crystal Hughling, Stephen Meyers, Amanda Sutter Roberts, Dustin Carpenter, Ashley Carpenter Julian, David Sutter, Michael Hunsinger; and thirteen great grandchildren, Cassidy, Hollie, and Clarence Bailey Jr., Emilee and Matthew Furgal, Curtis, Jesse, and Athena Hughling, Peyton Roberts, Jocelyn, Sophia, Jhett, and Katelyn Juilan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Belton, 2500 Church St. Belton, Texas 76513 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123.
