Funeral services for Jessie J. Jackson, 97, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 12, 2013, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Baisden officiating. Burial will follow at the McDowell Cemetery. They family will receive friends for visitation Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mrs. Jackson died Saturday, October 5, 2013 in Houston. Mrs. Jackson was born December 21, 1915 in Rochelle, the daughter of George Washington Adams and Mary Leona (Shafer) Adams. She married Oren "O. C." Jackson, October 6, 1934 in Rochelle. They made their home in Houston for more than 30 years and were members of Lindale Church of Christ. In 1972, they moved to Belton. She was a member of Belton Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and an award winning artist. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, her sister, Georgie May Adams, and her great grand daughter, Morgan Derryberry. Survivors include two sons Joe Jackson of Houston and James Jackson of Belton; one daughter Mary Kemp of Chappel Hill, North Carolina; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Belton Church of Christ.
