Roy Bryan Douglas

Roy Bryan Douglas passed away at his home on October 17th. Roy was born in Killeen, Texas on June 6, 1934. He married the love of his life, Reba Ann Sorley, on August 20th, 1955 in Waco, Texas. They have shared 58 love filled years as husband and wife. He was a family man who was proud to be an Aggie & Baylor Gramps. Roy accepted Jesus as his Savior in 1965. He was baptized at at Immanuel Baptist Church as his profession of faith. He is a member of their home bound ministry. Roy worked for over 30 years at Piggly Wiggly in Temple and enjoyed serving customers. He participated in the MDRD study to help improve the quality of lives for people dealing with kidney disease. He received dialysis treatments for 13 years. He was known as the "wing man" and "candy man" to the dialysis staff and patients throughout the years. Roy was preceeded in death by his parents, Wilburn Douglas and Lois Rambo Douglas, as well as a brother Billy Wayne Douglas, and sisters Dorothy Farr and Lois Doss. He is survived by a daughter, Retha Schulz of Temple, and a son, Russell Douglas of Temple. He has four grandsons: Barrett Schulz of Austin, Brent Schulz-Baylor Student, and Buddy and Brandon Douglas of Temple. He is also survived by his twin brother, Ray S. Douglas, of Waco, Texas. Donations may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church of Temple, Lakeview Baptist Church of Belton, or Scott & White Hospice. Visitation will be Sunday, October, 20th from 4-6 at Dossman Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Monday, October 21st at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. Burial will be at GreatHouse Cemetery.
