Cary Contreras Cortes

Belton--- Memorial services for Cary C. Cortes, 80, of Temple, TX will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Jaime Zamarron and Gustavo Martinez officiating. Mrs. Cortes died Sunday, October 27, 2013, at a Belton nursing home. Mrs. Cortes was born March 15, 1933 in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, the daughter of Isidro and Maria Trevino Contreras. She married Rev. Robert Cortes on November 13, 1954 in Monterrey and they moved to the United States in 1956, where she attended Tennessee Temple College in Chattanooga, TN. Mrs. Cortes was a wonderful wife, a devoted mother and consummate homemaker. In addition, she supported her husband's pastorates throughout the USA and Mexico, his chaplaincy ministry in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX and many other ministry endeavors spanning 60 years. She was preceded in death by: her sister, Margarita Contreras de Martinez, brother-in laws: Fernando Martinez and Indalecio Trevino and sister-in-law, Constanza Garza De Contreras. Survivors include her husband, Rev. Robert Cortes of Temple, TX; two sons: Robert Cortes, Jr., MD and wife, Debbie Marie Cortes of Temple, TX and Ariel Alexander Cortes, MD and wife, Elizabeth Ann Cortes of Carlsbad, CA.; one daughter: Linda Yvonne Cortes of Austin, TX; two brothers: Isidro Contreras Trevino and Lazaro Contreras Trevino; three sisters: Alicia Contreras de Gonzalez, Lilia Contreras de Trevino and Raquel Contreras de Zamarron, all of Monterrey, NL, Mexico; eight grandchildren: David Andrew Cortes and wife, Audrey Diane Cortes of Waco, TX, Stephen Aaron Cortes, JD of Austin, TX, Robert Alexander Cortes of Salado, TX, Brandon Anthony Peters of Fort Wayne, IN, Leah Marie Dudley and Louie Frank Dudley IV of Temple, TX, Luke Alexander Cortes and Annabelle Elizabeth Cortes of Carlsbad, CA; two great-grandchildren: Addison Ann Cortes and Lainey Brooke Cortes of Waco, TX and grand-dog, Tiny Cortes of Austin, TX.
