Funeral services for Mae Belle Perkins, 91, of Belton, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arthur Washburn officiating. Burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mrs. Perkins died Sunday, December 1, 2013 at a Temple Hospital. Mrs. Perkins was born, December 21, 1921, in Singer, Louisiana, the daughter of Eli and Emma (Johnson) Buxton. She worked for many years at the J. M. Woods Manufacturing Company in Temple. She later worked at the Belton Day Care. She was a long time member of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Belton where she enjoyed singing. She was preceded in death by one son Wayne Perkins and one daughter Nyla Rose Brister. Survivors include two sons Frederick Lee Perkins of Temple and Michael Joe Perkins of Temple; three daughters Anita Biles of Temple, Peggy Jones of Tacoma, Washington and Betty Lou Matthews of Belton; three sisters Gerdel Cook of Owassa, Oklahoma, Joyce Johnson of Tucson, Arizona and Adele Nimitz of New Jersey; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and numerous great great-grandchildren.
