Memorial services for Weldon Lee Wilkerson, 81, of Moffat, formerly of Waco, will be held at 1 PM Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Moffat with Rev. Carl Love officiating. Mr. Wilkerson died Tuesday, December 3, 2013, in a Temple hospital. Mr. Wilkerson was born, May 5, 1932, in Troy, the son of Sidney and Agnes (Hargrove) Wilkerson. He was a 1950 graduate of Temple High School. He served in the United States Air Force. He married Sondra Hudson, November 1, 1957, at Memorial Baptist Church in Temple. They made their home in Waco, while he worked for General Tire and Rubber for 33 years. After retirement the couple moved to Moffat in 1989. Mr. Wilkerson was the founding president of the Waco Knife Club. He was a member of the American Legion Post 133. Mr. Wilkerson was a deacon at First Baptist Church Moffat where he was an active member of the Building and Grounds Committee. He also enjoy doing Missionary work in Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers; Allen Wilkerson and Leon Wilkerson. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sondra Wilkerson, son Kyle Wilkerson of Moffat and daughter Wendy Underwood and husband Don of Woodway; sister-in-law Tommie Wilkerson of Moffat, grandson Matt Underwood, several nieces, nephews and more extended family. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Moffat 13929 Moffat Road, Temple Texas 76502.
