Michael Serrano

Belton--- Funeral services for Michael Serrano, 27, of Temple, will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johner Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mr. Serrano was born February 24, 1986, in Brooklyn, New York the son of Daniel Serrano and Maggie McDonald. He was a 2004 graduate of the Graphic Communication Art High School in Manhattan. He moved to central Texas in 2006 and earned an associate's degree in criminal justice from Central Texas College. He married Marie Saltmarsh June 21, 2008 in San Antonio. He was a jailer with the Bell County Sheriff's Department. Survivors include his wife Marie Serrano of Temple, two sons Blake Derek Serrano and Kaleb Michael Serrano both of Temple; parents Daniel Serrano of Temple and Maggie McDonald of New York; two brothers Darien Serrano of Temple and Christopher Serrano of Chicago; one sister Moriah Soto of New York. Grandparents Dafne Garcia of Puerto Rico and Lucien McDonald of Florida. A memorial fund has been established for the family at Extraco Banks in Central Texas
