Michael Honts

BeltonA Prayer Service for Michael E. "Mike" Honts, 72, of Belton, will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for visitation 6-8 PM that evening, before and after the time of prayer. Mr. Honts died Thursday, January 9, 2014, in a Temple Hospital. Mr. Honts was born August 20, 1941, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Everett Eugene Honts and Edetta Jay (Gerth) Honts. He married Rosanna Emrick August 12, 1972 in S. H. A. P. E, Belgium. He was retired from the U. S. Army after 24 years of service as a cartographer. He was a member of the Leon Valley Golf Course where he served as treasure for several years. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include his wife Rosanna Honts of Belton; brothers David Dean Honts of Salado, Don Schmelzer of Muscatine, Iowa and Jerry Schmelzer of Cabot, Arkansas; sisters Carol Ann Miller and Linda Joy Fry both of Muscatine, Iowa.
