Patty Jean Burris

Belton--- Memorial services for Patty Jean Burris, 75, of Temple, will be held at a later date. Dossman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Burris passed away Friday, January 31, 2014, at her home in Temple. She was born February 4, 1938, in Augusta, Kansas the daughter of Elza Shields and Gladys (Lee) Shields. Patty was a homemaker and married her husband, Bryan Burris on January 28, 1959 in Augusta, Kansas. She has lived in Temple five and a half years after moving from Lewisville, Texas. She loved to travel and loved her family. She could draw and paint anything which she did in her free time. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Betty Evans. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Bryan Burris; a son, Michael Burris; three daughters, Kimberley Capobianco, Deborah Woods, Suzanne Perez; four brothers, Reginald, Ronald, Kent and Larry Shields; three sisters, Connie Lee, Dona Trostle, Linda Shreve; six grandchildren, Courtney Wood, Caroline Capobianco, Christopher Capobianco, Nathaniel Woods, Leonardo Perez, Lilyana Perez; and four great grandchildren, Brennan Wood, Brooke Wood, Phoenix Capobianco, and Tanner Capobianco. Mrs. Burris was cremated prior to services. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
