December 25, 1926 — March 5, 2014

Funeral services for Ray Hays, 87, of Belton, will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Leroy Kemp officiating. Burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Hays died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at his home in Belton. Mr. Hays was born December 25, 1926, in Cisco,Texas the son of Frank and Ruth (Hahn) Hays. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy. Mr. Hays married Martha Hedges, June 12, 1953 in Abilene. He worked for the Department of Agriculture as a grain inspector. Mr. Hays was a 50 year resident of Belton. He was a 32 degree Mason for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Temple and Belton Bass Clubs and a member of a The National Fishing Lure Collectors Club. He was a member of First Baptist Church Belton. Survivors include his wife Martha Hays of Belton; two daughters and sons-in-law Melinda and Scott Sarine of Sulphur Springs and Melissa and Randy Hickerson of Lorena; one sister Dorothy Dickerson of Aspermont; four grandchildren Abby Neal, Sally Whitaker, Ross Sarine and Nancy Farrell; five great grandchildren Jolee Neal, Isaac Neal, Brant Whitaker, Jack Sarine and Libby Farrell. Memorials may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, Texas
