Belton - Mass for Henry C. Wallace Jr., 89 of Belton will be held 11 AM Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Belton with Father Angelo Bertini officiating. Mr. Wallace is to be cremated. A rosary will be held Monday evening at 7 PM at Cedarbrake Retreat Center in Belton. Henry passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at his home in Belton. He was born the son of Henry C. Wallace Sr. and Mary Vivian (Murphy) Wallace on June 21, 1924 in Belton. He was a World War II Veteran where he served in the United States Air Force from 1942 to 1943. He married his wife, Aliceanne (Zalac) Wallace April 10, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois. Henry worked as an Operator-Clerk for the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad in Dallas for 42 years and retired in 1984. During this time he also worked as a flight instructor. He moved with his wife back home to Belton where he was a Charter Member of the Killeen Chapter of Quiet Birdmen, the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railroad Employees, a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and a proud member of the Bell County Democratic Party. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joseph C. Wallace. Survivors include his wife, Aliceanne Wallace of Belton; two daughters, Laura Wallace Bergin and husband Robert of Arlington, Texas, Christine Wallace Stockwell and husband Harmon of Tucson, Arizona; a sister-in-law, Virginia Wallace of Belton; one grandson, Brett Bergin and wife Lindsay; three step-grandchildren, Kirk Bergin and wife, Robyn, Keri Minshew and husband Randy, Kyle Bergin and wife Celeste; and six step-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Temple Railroad Museum, 315 W. Avenue B, Temple, Texas 76501 or the Bell County Museum, P.O. Box 1381, Belton, Texas 76513.
