Funeral services for Harry V. "Fuzzy" Roberts, 89, of Belton, will be held at 2 PM Saturday, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Calloway officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mr. Roberts died Thursday, March 20, 2014, in a Temple Hospital. Mr. Roberts was born July 30, 1924, in Nolanville, the son of Oscar B. and Hester B. (Sutton) Roberts. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Air Force. He married Glenda Southerland April 4, 1947 in Belton. She preceded him in death March 25, 1976. He married Glenna Southerland, November 22, 1978 in Corpus Christi. Mr. Roberts was an airplane mechanic. He worked for civil service at Connally Air Force Base in Waco before moving to Corpus Christi to work at the Naval Air Station. He retired in 1980 and moved back to central Texas in 1981. Mr. Roberts was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Belton Masonic Lodge and recently received his 50 year pin. Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife Glenna Roberts of Belton; three sons Marty Roberts of Troy, Ira Southerland of Little River and Mark Southerland of Buckholts; three daughters Ginger Layne of Temple, Vickie Lindsey of Midlothian and Debbie Coats of Moffat; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
