Belton--- Funeral services for Bennie Lee Raines, 69, of Belton, will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Ronnie Raines officiating. Burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Raines died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at his home in Belton. Mr. Raines was born May 20, 1944 in Linden, the son of Ova Blair Raines and Margaret Inabelle (Kay) Raines. He was a US military veteran. He married Brenda Glover January 24, 1963 in Rusk. They made their home in Belton in 1975. Mr. Raines was retired from Belton High School in 2007 after 33 years with the district. He attended Miller Heights Baptist Church in Belton. Survivors include his wife Brenda Raines of Belton, two sons Martin Raines and Eric Raines both of Belton, one brother Ronnie Raines of Atlanta, Texas and two grandchildren Ben and Bryan Raines. Memorials may be made to the Bennie Raines Medical Fund.
