Belton--- Funeral services for Clifton James Peters, 61, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Belton Church of Christ with Minister Robert Elliott and Mickey Blanks officiating. Burial will follow at the Bellwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Peters died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his home in Belton. Mr. Peters was born January 19, 1953 in Temple, the son of Millard and Mildred (Faulkner) Peters. He was a 1971 graduate of Temple High School and a 1975 graduate of Texas A&M. He married Charla Welch, March 11, 1977 in Taylor. He worked for many years in agriculture sales before working with the Corps of Engineers, quality assurance at Ft. Hood. He served for 11 years on the Belton City Council. Mr. Peters was a member of the Belton Church of Christ serving as a deacon. Survivors include his wife Charla Peters of Belton, mother Mildred Wedel of Killeen, son Aaron Peters of Belton and Ansley Allen of Belton; one sister Susan Peters of Fort Worth; three grandchildren, A. J. Peters, Ryker Peters and Keona Allen. Memorials may be made to the Belton Church of Christ Missions Fund, Emory Bellard ALS Clinic at Scott & White Round Rock or the ALS Association.
