Belton--- Memorial services for Marilyn R. Packard, 83, of Belton, will be held 4:00PM, Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Soldiers of the Cross Cowboy Fellowship Church, 14788 FM 439, Nolanville, Texas 76559, with Danny Brey officiating. Dossman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Packard is to be cremated. Marilyn passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014, at her home in Belton. She was born October 11, 1930, in Kingston, Pennsylvania the daughter of Howard Pettebone and Lulu (Reilly) Pettebone. Marilyn married her husband, Frederick Packard August 20, 1950, in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvaina. She was a military wife and moved to Central Texas in 1965 and attended the Soldiers of the Cross Cowboy Fellowship Church. Mrs. Packard was a member of organizations such as the, A.B.W.A., and a charter member of the Lady's Auxiliary VFW Post 10377. She was a girl scout leader and cub scout mom and sponsored many soccer teams. She loved cross stitching, reading, plastic canvas, crosswords, and keeping up with her grandkids and great grandkids. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Survivors include her three daughters, Sherry Wright and husband Marvin, Robin Ledbetter, Patti Hooper and husband, Dick; one brother, Lynn Pullis; one sister, Lou Peak; and seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made to the Soldiers of the Cross Fellowship Church, P.O. Box 363, Nolanville, Texas 76559; Lake Belton VFW Post 10377, 4 Woodland Trail, Belton, Texas 76513; or the Lady's Auxiliary VFW Post 10377 Cancer Aide and Research Fund, 4 Woodland Trail, Belton, Texas 76513.
