Belton--- Funeral services for Jesse Hugh Harris, Jr., 73, of Belton will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the Rogers City Cemetery. Mr. Harris died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in a Temple hospital. Mr. Harris was born August 8, 1940 in Temple, the son of Jess Hugh Harris and Alice Irene (Keith) Harris. He was a graduate of Sam Houston State University and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He married Mary Jo Bassett December 14, 1987 in Midland. Mr. Harris worked for many years in Houston as an accountant for Keystone Valve. After retiring Mr. Harris moved to North Carolina and Austin but settled in Belton ten years ago. He was preceded in death by one sister Jean Morris. He is survived by his wife Mary Jo Harris of Belton, two sons Eddie Bassett of Houston and Bobby Bassett of Waco, one daughter Karen Solomon of Big Spring and sister Mary Friemel of Boerne; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
