Vivian Mccleskey

Belton--- Memorial services for Vivian McCleskey, 80 of Temple, will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 10, 2014 at First United Methodist Church of Belton with Sarah Burris and Darren Walker officiating. Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of arrangements and Mrs. McCleskey is to be cremated prior to services. Vivian died Monday, July 7, 2014, at her home in Temple. She was born December 14, 1933, in Fort Worth, Texas the daughter of Hugh Bunton, Jr. and Sarah Lee (Babcock) Bunton. She married her husband, Archie H. McCleskey, Jr. July 11, 1953 in Fort Worth. Archie and her moved back to central Texas in 2004 from Marietta, Georgia. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belton and loved sewing, embroidery, baking, but mostly singing. Of all the churches she was a member while traveling with her husband, she sung in all but two church choirs. She was a minister's wife, mom and memaw. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Archie H. McCleskey, Jr. Survivors include two sons, John and Michael McCleskey; two daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Burris and Susan Rebecca McCleskey-Huber; three sisters, Virginia Lee Ashcraft, Irene Sweely, Jeanette Dixon; seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made to the Methodist Children's Home, 1111 Herring, Waco, Texas 76708.
