Belton--- Funeral services for LaHoma F. Ratliff, 85, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 28, 2014, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nolanville. The family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Ratliff died Monday, August 25, 2014 in a a Belton nursing home. Mrs. Ratliff was born May 22, 1929 in Bell County, the daughter of John Raymond Taylor and Floy (Hayter) Taylor. She married J. W. Ratliff, August 9, 1947 in Belton. She was a teacher's aid for 29 years in Belton at Southwest Elementary and Belton High School. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Golden Age Club. She was a long time member of the Belton Church of Christ. Mrs. Ratliff loved to travel, sew and crotchet but most of all she loved being with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband December 22, 1989. Survivors include sons Mike Ratliff and wife Kay of Belton, Gary Ratliff and wife Peggy of Mt. Belvieu; two daughters Sharon Prcin and husband Vic, Jr. and Linda McCracken and husband Billy of Corpus Christi; a sister Sandra Crow of Vancouver, Washington and sister-in-law Barbara Arnold of Houston; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
