James William (J.W.) Johnson James W. (J.W.) Johnson, 82, a lifelong resident of Belton, passed away Sunday, August 31st at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Johnson was born June 15, 1932 to Robert and Vera Watts Johnson. He attended Armstong school. He worked as a carpenter at Grey Air Base for eleven years. He farmed for 65 years, including running a dairy for 22 years. He married Ann Vaden in Belton on January 16, 1953. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Armon Johnson, and two sisters, Florene Johnson and Betty Ward. Also preceding him in death was his daughter, Gracie Florene Johnson in 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, three daughters, Deborah Puckett and husband Billy, Linda Anderson, all of Belton, Cindy Smith of Arlington; two sons, James R. Johnson and wife Sofie of Hutto, and John C. Johnson of Huntsville. He is survived by one brother, Bobby Joe Johnson of Waco. He was blessed with nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Johnson was deeply loved and will be forever missed by his family. He believed in hard work and taught his work ethic to all his children. He loved his family and was very proud of his five generations. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. Burial will follow at Bell Plains Cemetery in Salado. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, from 6-8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scott and White Hospice, 2401 S 31st Street, Temple, Texas 76508.
