William David Mcleod

S/Sgt. William David McLeod, Sr., U.S. Army Retd S/Sgt. William David McLeod, Sr., U.S. Army (Retd), 59 of Morgan's Point Resort, died at his residence Sunday, September 28, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 3, 2014 at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton . Burial will be in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. S/Sgt. McLeod was born to William Jake and Bernice Hughes McLeod in Bay City, Texas on January 30, 1955. He served in the U.S. Army from June 8, 1973 until his re-tirement on June 8, 1993. Following his retirement from the military, he was employed by Camber Corporation, and was involved with government contract work. He married Karen Huff in Temple on July 22, 1983. He was a member of the American Legion, and held a lifetime membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Elks. He had been a resident of Bell County for several years. Survivors include his wife, Karen McLeod of Morgan's Point Resort; two sons, William D. McLeod, Jr. of Fort Worth and James D. McLeod of Moody; one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth McLeod of Morgan's Point Resort; two brothers, Samuel C. McLeod of Houston and Thomas Montgomery of Katy; and six grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the charity of choice. Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of arrangements.
