Harvey Glen Parish

Services for Harvey Parish, 83, of Salado will be at 2:00p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014, at the Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Rev. Billy Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 1:45 at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Crawford. Mr. Parish died on October 6 at home. He was born on July 6, 1931, in Kosse, Tx, to Murry and Annie Parish. He graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1948. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service and retired from Civil Service in 1991. He was a fast pitch softball pitcher and an avid bowler for many years. He coached his sons in Little League football, basketball, and baseball. He loved to play guitar and sing. He was married to Lois Westerfeld on August 25, 1956, at the First Baptist Church in Crawford. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Jimmy of Spencer, NY, and Ricky of Salado, two grandchildren, Van Parish of San Antonio, and Heather Pace of Bowling Green, KY, and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Danny, his parents, three brothers, and two sisters. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Memorials may made to First Baptist Church of Salado, St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund in Crawford or Gentiva Hospice.
