Lillard Lawton Golden

Services for Lawton "Shorty" Golden, 88, of Belton will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the North Belton Cemetery in Belton, Texas with Pastor Billy Johnson and Pastor Justin Childers officiating. Mr. Golden passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 in Belton, Texas at his home. He was born September 30, 1926 to Gilbert Golden and Cordie Mae Hinson Golden in Coryell County. He was a staff sergeant in the Army during World War II. He owned and operated Golden Boot Shop in Belton for over forty years, was an avid gardener and raised cattle. He married Zetta Golden on July 14, 1990. Survivors include his wife, his two sons, Scooter Golden and wife Patty of Belton and Jim Golden and wife Paula of Belton, 4 grandchildren Laura Luedeke and husband Shay of Salado, David Golden and wife Duana of Temple, Wade Golden and wife Katie of Academy and Brian Golden and wife Vicki of Pearland and seven great grandchildren Ashlynn, Jett, Hailey, Kerris, Abbie, Hunter, Kambrie. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Miller Heights Church Building Fund. Dossman Funeral Home of Belton is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Dossman Funeral Home.
