Funeral services for Jewell Gott, 94 of Belton, will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation 6-8 PM Wednesday evening at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Gott died Monday, November 3, 2014 in a Tomball nursing home. Mrs. Gott was born September 7, 1920 in DeRidder, Louisiana, the daughter of George Washington Mills and Carrie Evie Woods Mills. She married Norman Gott on August 26, 1946 and together they raised 3 fine young boys. In her lifetime, Mrs Gott held many jobs including telephone operator, clerk in an insurance company, production manager in an Alaskan cannery and owned both a flower shop and ceramic shop in Alaska and another ceramic shop in Gatun, Panama Canal Zone. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church Belton. She was most comfortable as a meeter/greeter at any and every gathering she was a part of, never allowing newcomers to feel like an outsider. Mrs. Gott was preceded in death by her husband in February 1999. Survivors include two sons Don Gott of Eagle River, Alaska and Roy Gott and wife Debbie Gott of Spring, TX; 5 grandchildren Jennifer Morissette and husband Peter Morissette of Brenham, Tx, Jessica Howarth and husband Michael Howarth of Conroe, TX, Micah Gott of Mt Dora, FL, Daniel Gott and wife Devin Gott of Huntsville, TX and Morgan Elizabeth Gott of Spring; 3 great-grandsons Jeremiah and Jedidiah Gott of Mt Dora, FL and Troy Howarth of Conroe, TX. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Belton.
