Funeral services for Lloyd Harold Carrell, 82, of Belton, will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ryan Kiblinger officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation 6-8PM Friday evening at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Carrell died Thursday, November 06, 2014 at his home in Belton. Mr. Carrell was born March 16, 1932 in Brownfield, Texas, the son of Jesse Ernest Carrell and Mary Zada McPherson Carrell. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U. S. Air Force. He married Donna Mae Nelson, January 1, 1956 in Raton, New Mexico. Mr. Carrell was an Educator; he served in education in many capacities including principal. He also taught math from 1969-1971 in Istanbul, Turkey at the American College for Girls. He lived in Roswell, New Mexico for more than 30 years where he was the principal of Roswell High School and Goddard High School. In the 1990's he served as a missionary in Russia with Campus Crusaders for Christ. Mr. Carrell moved to Belton in 2008. He was a member of Foundation United Methodist Church. Mr. Carrell is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna M. Carrell of Belton, one son John Carrell of Abilene, one daughter Cynthia A. Stovall of Belton; five sisters Gerri Russell of El Paso, Juanita Carrell of Granbury, Yvonne Carrell of Forsythe, MO, Melva Knox of Romance Ark and Tina McLeod of Lexington, South Carolina, seven grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
