Jean Whitis

Belton--- Funeral services for Jean Whitis, 75, of Belton, will be held at 3:30 PM Monday, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the North Belton Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday evening at Dossman Funeral Home. Mrs. Whitis died Friday, November 14, 2014 in a Temple Hospital. Mrs. Whitis was born April 27, 1939 in Temple, the daughter of Clifford and Bee (Ray) Ketchum. She was a lifetime resident of Central Texas. She married Howard Whitis July 11, 1959 in Belton. She worked as a teller for many years at Peoples National Bank in Belton. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Belton and where she was a member of the Golden Age Club. She also was a member of the Chisholm Trail Good Sam Club. Survivors include her husband Howard Whits of Belton; two sons Steven Whitis of Dallas and Gary Whitis of Temple; one brother Jim Ketchum and wife Sheryl of Burleson and Sister Carolyn Hunter and husband John of Belton. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Golden Age Club.
