Alice Ruth Wear

Funeral services for Alice Ruth Reid Wear, 90, of Temple, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Henderson and Rev. Ed Talley officiating. Burial will follow at the Salado Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 -2:00 PM Tuesday. Mrs. Reid Wear died Saturday, November 29, 2014, in a Temple Nursing Center. Mrs. Reid Wear was born May 2, 1924 in Camp Wood, the daughter of Robert Henry Hughes and Almontie Denton Tatum Hughes. She married Juil Lee Reid October 22, 1948 in Belton. He preceded her in death January 3, 1976. She married Thomas Calvin Wear February 1, 1978 in Salado and he preceded her in death July 20, 1988. She was a lifetime resident of Bell County. She was a long time member of Heights Baptist Church where she enjoyed working in the nursery. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Reid Wear was also preceded in death by one son Milton Reid and three daughters Marjorie Wear and Patsy Hughes and Baby Ruth Reid. Survivors include three sons, Lucky Reid of Morgan's Point Resort, Rex Lynn Reid of Belton and Richard Rodney Reid of Morgan's Point Resort; three daughters Brenda Louise Stull of Fairfield, Pennsylvania, Alice Faye Harvell of Big Spring and Rose Williams of Brandon, Mississippi; 22 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the St. Judes Children's Hospital.
