Jeannine "Jj" Cardwell

Funeral services for Jeannine "Jj" Cabaniss Cardwell, 70, of Temple will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Mercer officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Cardwell was born in Belton, Texas, the daughter of James Thomas "Jim" Cabaniss and Lela Irene Carter Cabaniss. She was the fourth of eight children. She owned her own business in the advertising industry for many years. From a very young age, she was a singer and song writer. Her family loved for her to share her music and guitar playing on a regular basis. She was baptized in the Belton Church of Christ at the age of 16. Mrs. Cardwell was a loving and kind soul, raised with songs in her heart, and singing to the world throughout her life. Survivors include her two sons Dwayne Gritz of Okarche, Oklahoma and Lonnie Gritz of Enid, Oklahoma, her partner in life, Buddy Ming, two sisters Kathy Patrick of Temple and Jo Carroll of Bryan, one Aunt, Georgia Carter Stover, three grandchildren and numerous cousins.
