Funeral services for Mary Louise King Brantley, 87, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 12, 2015, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Roy Brantley and Rev. Steve Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow at the Greathouse Cemetery in Temple. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday evening from 4-6 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home. Mrs. Brantley died Friday, January 9, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Brantley was born February 7, 1927, in Belton, the daughter of Elmer Richard King, Sr. and Jessie Rrena Montgomery King. She married Clayton Odell Brantley in 1949 in Belton. She was a member of T. O. P. S. in Belton and the New Beginnings Grief and Loss Club. She was the treasurer of the Armstrong Community Center and a member of the Belton Senior Center. She was a long time active member of Elm Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton Odell Brantley in 1989; one daughter Barbara Sue Brantley and one great Granddaughter Dallas Williams. Survivors include two sons Clayton Brantley of Belton and Roy Dayton Brantley of College Station; one daughter Brenda Jo Culp of Belton; two brothers Fred M. King and E. R. King both of Belton. Ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Elm Grove Baptist Church or the Armstrong Community Center.
