Albert Dwight Hoopingarner

Funeral services for Albert Dwight "Sonny" Hoopingarner, 80, of Temple will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:30 PM -2:00 PM Tuesday, prior to the service. Mr. Hoopingarner died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at his home. Mr. Hoopingarner was born July 14, 1934 in Ft. Worth, the son of Albert Lowell Hoopingarner and Donis Scott Hoopingarner. He married Jeannine Kuntschik October 4, 1954 in Gonzales. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. In 1969 they opened Fashion Fabrics in Gonzales and sold it after 10 years. They moved to Temple from Gonzales in October of 1994. He enjoyed being on the water, boating and fishing. He also enjoyed remote control airplanes. Mr. Hoopingarner was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Gabby and Lauren. Survivors include his wife Jeannine Hoopingarner of Temple, one son Robert Hoopingarner of Canyon Lake and two daughters Donis Jackson of Plano and Sunny Lee Fritsche of Katy; one sister Donis Marie Wilson of Gonzales; five grandchildren Kimberlea, Elissa, Blaine, Kristi and Jacob and two great grandchildren Bridgette and Brolan.
