Gary Wayne Dobbins died on March 17, 2015 in Temple, Texas due to complications following cancer surgery. He was 68. Mr. Dobbins was born on June 29, 1946 in Boaz, Alabama to parents, Luther and Patsy Dobbins. He graduated from Killeen High School in 1965. He married Judy Turnbo in 1967. The Dobbins family lived in Killeen all of their lives until recently retiring to Salado to be closer to their children and their grandchildren. Mr. Dobbins spent his working life in the auto industry in Killeen until retiring in 2013. He was an avid automobile enthusiast, woodworker, jack of all trades and BBQ enthusiast. Mr. Dobbins accomplished things in his life not easily documented in print but rather by the legacy he leaves behind with his family and especially his grandsons. Gary married Judy Turnbo on March 3, 1967 and considered this his greatest example of superior decision making. Gary and Judy just recently celebrated their 48th anniversary. He was a devoted husband and father whose selflessness was unmatched. Mr. Dobbins is survived by his wife Judy Dobbins of Salado; a son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Anissa Dobbins of Salado; a daughter, Wendy Dobbins of Salado and two grandsons, Drew and Bryce Dobbins both of Salado. He was also viewed as an additional father to many nieces and nephews. Mr. Dobbins will be buried at Salado Cemetery in Salado, Texas on Friday, March 20th following services at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton at 4:00 pm. Visitstion will be held at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton on Thursday, March 19 at 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
